Introduction
Hi, I’m Skyler.
I’m an electronic enginner and computer scientist with a passion for learning and doing things from scratch.
I thought it was about time I start posting somewhere about many of the things I do. I always end up finding myself doing things that many would consider pointless or not worth the time, but to me I see it as a challenge and a way to learn. So often I find that information online is missing, incomplete, or - now in the era of AI - completely AI generated garbage that looks believable but ends up being a mash of so many different things that it just doesn’t work.
That’s not to say I’m against AI, I’m not - However I do think that it needs to be used with caution. It can be incredibly valuable when getting started with something but often it ends up “hallucinating” solutions, so taking care to cross reference most of what it spits out is important.
Anyhow, less about that and more about me. You’re probably asking yourself “What kind of things do they do?”, so let me list a few.
- Wireless communication
- Amatuer radio (I’ve got my full UK licence, M0SMQ)
- Software defined radio
- Bluetooth/WiFi/Thread/Zigbee (all 802.)
- Cyber security
- Reverse engineering
- Cryptography
- Electronics
- Microcontrollers
- Sensors
- ESP32
- HomeLab
- I run a small 10" 6U mini rack at home
- Networking
- File sharing
- iSCSI
- OpenWRT
- Radius
This is just to name a few, there’s a whole lot more I could talk about but if I listed everything I could probably go on forever.
Hopefully you’ve stuck with me through this, and maybe you could check out some of my other posts too!
